In addition to his work with elite youth, junior and professional players, Shawn will be instrumental in building the Blue Paint Network, a platform and Advisory Firm that connects players with resources to maximize their potential on and off the ice.

During his six years as General Manager, Scouting Director, and President of the Soo Thunderbirds in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League, he led the team to three NOJHL championships and two Dudley-Hewitt Cup Central Canada titles. His leadership earned him the NOJHL General Manager of the Year award three times.

Kevin’s hockey journey is a testament to perseverance and professionalism. A former NHL player with the New York Islanders, he earned every opportunity through relentless work ethic, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to continuous improvement. Along the way, he represented the United States at the IIHF World Junior Championship, served as captain of the AHL’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers, captured the ECHL Kelly Cup Championship while being named Playoff MVP, and fulfilled a lifelong dream by making his NHL debut at Madison Square Garden.
In 2006, Kevin received one of the New York Islanders organization’s most respected honors—the Bob Nystrom Award—presented annually to the player who best exemplifies leadership, determination, and dedication. It is a distinction that reflects the values Kevin carried throughout his playing career and continues to demonstrate every day as a coach and mentor.
Following his retirement from professional hockey, Kevin transitioned seamlessly into coaching and player development. He served as Head Coach of both the Utah Grizzlies and Arizona Sundogs at the professional level before establishing himself as one of the premier development coaches in the United States. Most recently, his work with Texas Heat has helped countless young players elevate their game while preparing for the demands of junior, collegiate, and professional hockey.
